Why should I offer discounts and short stays?

Discounts and short stays help you attract guests during low-demand periods and fill gaps in your calendar, without lowering your base price. Short stays appeal to short-break travellers and weekenders, which can lift occupancy in shoulder and low seasons.

Which discounts can I offer?

You can set up the following discounts to attract more guests:

  • First 3 bookings discount: applied automatically to the first 3 bookings of a new property.
  • Mobile discount: attracts guests booking from mobile devices.
  • Loyalty discount: available for properties with a minimum of 3 reviews on both Holidu and Booking.com, with an average score of 7.5 or higher. The discount is 10% by default.
  • Early bird discount: rewards guests who book in advance. You choose the lead time.
  • Last-minute discount: fills availability with short-notice bookings.
  • Weekly discount: rewards stays of 7 nights or more.
  • Direct booking website discount: offers guests a small discount when they book directly with you, so they pay less and you keep more.

Early bird and last-minute discounts adjust automatically based on the booking date relative to your settings.

How can I accept short stays?

Holidu offers three ways to fill your calendar with short stays:

  • Fill short gaps between reservations: fills calendar gaps with short stays at a price uplift you set.
  • Accept short stays for full-stay pay: allows bookings for fewer nights than your standard minimum while keeping your earnings intact.
  • Lower your minimum stay for last-minute dates: reduces the minimum stay requirement as the check-in date approaches.

Where do I set up discounts?

You can configure all discounts and short stay options in your Holidu Host dashboard under Configuration → Discounts. You set the percentages, time windows, and minimum stays. Holidu's pricing recommendations are based on local market data to help you match each setting to demand in your area.
